Complex reception - case study

ZWe were preached to the Client about the complex characteristics of the sales network, having several dozen power consumption points. Some of these points were accounted for directly by the Seller, some were based on the data from the counters of the owner of the shopping mall, and yet another part was located in facilities with independent OSD (Distribution System Operator). The customer set himself an ambitious goal of decarbonisation, in which he intended to buy green energy directly from the Manufacturer, thereby avoiding the use of the Origin Guarantee. He asked OZEOS to help develop a purchasing strategy that would allow him to acquire 100% of his energy from a green energy producer.

In May the Client came to us with a very complex characteristics of the sales network - he had several dozen power consumption points. Some of them were accounted for directly by the Seller, some of them were accounted for on the basis of data from the counters of the owner of the shopping mall, and yet another part was located in facilities with independent OSD (Operator of the distribution system, i.e. the power company involved in distribution of electricity, responsible for network traffic).

The customer chose a strategy for maximum decarbonisation, where one of the elements was to purchase green energy directly from the Manufacturer, i.e. under the PPAs. Its aim was to purchase energy directly from the source, as it did not want to "color" energy with the Guarantees of Origin.

The task of RES was to prepare a purchasing strategy so that 100% of the volume of consumed energy came directly from the producer of green energy.

PPA agreement made to measure

After analysis of the sent consumption profiles and technical data, we prepared a solution consisting of buying energy in two variants, i.e. part of the facilities where the Client had a direct contract with the trading company (energy seller) was assigned to the physical contract cPPA. In the facilities where OSDn was, the seller changed and these points joined the cPPA basket with physical delivery. The second package of reception points, where it was not possible to enter into a contract directly with the Seller, as the settlement came with the owner of the office building or shopping mall, was covered by the differential contract vPPA (Virtual Power Purchase Agreement - virtual PPA contract where physical supply of electricity to the customer is not required). The entire consumed volume was purchased directly from the manufacturer, as requested by the Client.

In OZEOS we have prepared solutions for Clients with a distributed and complex reception structure. Thanks to our technology platform and expertise of the RES team, we can prepare such offers and support our partners in implementing decarbonisation strategies.
